Here's a compilation of kitsch that has trickled in over the last month.
A kitschy collaboration of sorts.
You know, like a kitsch collection ;)
This!
Bear with me as I showcase all four sides of this amazing retro box of fireplace matches......
This record's been gettin a lot of play. Gabe leads me in a dance every time it's on :)
Here's the cup that was hidin under that silly rabbit....
I don't feel like talkin much.
But Miss M, you sweet beautiful creature, I am thinkin about ya....
And good things are comin your way, friend.
That match box is epic! The rabbit thing on the other hand, you should burn it. Burn it with hot, hot fire before it kills you in your sleep.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the petrified look on the doll behind it?
Delete;)
I need to go over to my wife's aunt's cottage and snap few pictures of her knick-knacks and such because i think you would love them. : )
ReplyDeleteDo it, John! It would make a most unusual post for your blog ;)
Deleteoh my! so much goodness! that matchbox- wow! and I love that owl on the left, what's it made out of?
ReplyDeleteIt's some kind of stone/rock Thimble. I really thought it a candle when I eyed it but it is most definitely a beautiful, valuable piece of retro history. Which put me out a whole dollar ;) And the matchbox was 50 cents and it's full of matches! We lit some candles the other night and striking it made me feel so ooh la la ;)
DeleteI thought that board game read "Candy Land", but it actually reads "Candy Man"! Is it just a different name for the same game?
ReplyDeleteAnd those owl! They are gorgeous, I love 'em! Good stuff Laura!
It's a record, Mason. We just dance to it ;)
DeleteI need to see all your owl kitsch in one magnificent pile. Ready, set, GO!
Oh, derp! I totally wasn't looking close enough, I thought it was a board game! LOL!
DeleteI've been wanting to group all our owls things together. I'm afraid it will turn out to be a daunting task!
Great finds!! Love the owl :) the matchbox is very retro!
ReplyDeleteHi, Shandell :) Whooooo are you? And wheeeeeere do you come from ;)
DeleteI like new folks, the blogging community has been nothin but a source of happiness for me. Thanks for stopping by..... off to spy on whatever you're "linked" to ;)
But just out of friendly curiosity, of course.
that is all reeeeaaallllyyy good stuff! i love that bunny puppet and the match box especially! HEY! Email me your address, I have something I've been DYING to send you! rae . hartsock at gmail.com !!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was settin up and photographing I thought "This feels like Rae"....... I really did!
DeleteEvery bit of it was Rae all the way. (totally rhymes)
And you've got my eyes bulgin'! I can't wait!
I've been hoarding stuff for a few of you this year and since it's so close to Christmas I have decided to make it all officially Christmas gifts. Speakin of Christmas, can mid November hurry up and come so I can slap out my stuff?! As you know, we moved in 3 days before the big day and the holidays were poorly under expressed on my end. I have been pickin up a little here and there all year and I will be excited to rediscover all those forgotten little elves, santas, rockin horses, googly eyed snowmen and so forth.... bet you know the feelin!
Love it! I genuinely think that Bunny puppet is awesome. Probably my favorite item of the whole post. Those fireplace matches look like they have some sort of story to the images on their. I wonder if the pictures are from something like... all I can think of is like Canterbury Tales but I don't think that's right. There's just such a specific sequence of pictures there... it's really interesting.
ReplyDeleteGINGHAM BUNNY PUPPET MAN! AGHH!H!HH!H!
ReplyDeleteLaura!!!! PLEASE
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteEven though the flreplace matchbox is so kitschy, l loved it! and wish it was mine :-)
you have a wonderful blog. Keep on with what you do so good, Arnon
Totally digging the graphics on the fireplace matchbox! The glass with the pirate...that character was from McDonald's wasn't it? Guess he went the way of Grimace (whom I still miss).
