My girl's room

I wanna write a sweet little intro about my daughter's room but my son wants me to play with him. So, I'll just upload the pics and then go wrestle that little Batman wannabe ;)
This room is a continual work in progress.  I just got the sweetest deal on a dollhouse bedframe/bookshelf thing. Well, I don't know how else to describe it! You'll see.....
Me and my buddy Delena both have the same response to their room. Every time we go in, we linger a lil too long, lay in the bed and say somethin like "You know, this is really my room" :) When she first ever saw it she said "This room isn't for them. You made yourself another room." Well, maybe I did.

When I run and skip with my buddy Delena, we hold hands up in the air, too. Makes skipping more challenging for sure, but it's the only way to go ;)
Here's a free tip. When you can no longer fit or wear one of your favorite shirts or sweaters(jumper) just cut out the awesome part that made you love it and frame it for your home. Both of these were too precious to let go of. The porcupine is knitted and the cat is patchwork.

My sweet niece, Emli drew this for Ava. It will always be apart of our home. Love you, Emli :)
I'm trainin my kids to have clown tolerance. Growin em up right ;)

This is the best thing about this room. Both of these were mine when I was little. My oldest Sarah took a likin to them without me pushin them on her. Just naturally started sleepin with them and that makes me feel all kinds of good. The little 80's tracksuit guy is Zoomer and the other guy is Maurice.

Ha! Awkward kiss on film. Gotta love it.

  2. Lol. You actually have proof that you are Gabe's only weakness to his superpowers. I love their room but I guarantee I don't even know how to skip. I can't wait to see their new bed go up!

    1. If you'd wear the overalls your natural skipping abilities would surface. Duh.

  5. So... much... kitsch...

I wish I had known about this blog back when we were cleaning out my grandmother's things after she had passed away. Seeing this stuff makes me think of all the old kitschy stuff she owned that no one in her family (including myself) appreciated. I kept a bunch of it for memory's sake, but sooo much of it was donated to Goodwill.

It's the exact kid of stuff I see you displaying here in such a refreshing and interesting way. I think we just take so much for granted. Now I wish I could go back in time, pack all that stuff up in a huge box and mail it off to you. You might not have wanted it all... but you'd have found some AMAZING ways to display some of it.

    1. That box would have been as precious and well received as your recent Trash Man box of goodies!!! (I've been so deflated as of late, it's averaging 104 degrees in my neck of Texas, but yes, I am still creepin and appreciatin' my favorite blogs) ;)
I would have sent you postage before I even saw one thing that you included in it, you know it! You should let your cave spill into the rest of the house. When folks come around (even had some today) they say that my home just feels happy. I see people smilin' here... that's what makes me happy. Makin others smile! Thank you for such awesome, complimentary words :)

  9. Wow, Never in my life would I have ever thought about looking my Monkey up online. I have My very own Zoomer. And Zoomer is very special to me. My grandmother and my mother took me to the mall, I was about 4 years old. I came across what I remember the Blue ones and the red ones. I was scared of them because I had nightmares of Killer monkeys frequently. My Grandmother and mother both knew of my Nightmares, and told me that this monkey is good, and he will protect me in my dreams. And that's exactly what he did when I had decided to take the Blue one named Zoomer. He has a little bit of wear from the years, since I am 37 now, and he's the only thing that I still have from my childhood. Growing up in Chillicothe OH. and Moving to Florida, not much came with me. But Zoomer was special to me and still to this day is my world. When I saw the pics of these guys, It reminded me that he had lost his hoodie, and his nose. Other than that he's in really good shape. It's awesome to find this site with so many reply's. And just talking about how much he means to owners, and others who really want one...
