It's slowly coming together over here. I wanted to paint but being a genie/psychic I foresaw a very grouchy, non-compliant husband and just nixed the idea. Didn't even mention it.
In the apartment it was easy to just tack it, nail it, slap it on up there willy nilly. I'm not havin the same carefree attitude over here, each nail gets a full trial with jury in my mind before it's hammered in. I guess just don't wanna mess up my little dream box. Gotta remind myself I can always change my mind later....
This used to hang in our bedroom. Needs more play than a bedroom, don't you think?
Ahhhh, this one is special. Granny let me drool over it for a couple of visits and totally surprised me by tossin it in my van right before we headed home one time. She's pleased as punch to know that it hangs in our living room, on full display :)
Hot air balloons. One of my favorites.
Okay, so unpacking I am finding some interesting stuff. I bought this back when I was pregnant with my oldest and weak for celebrity pregnancy news. Why am I keeping it all these years? I haven't got a good answer. But I do keep it hidden, wouldn't want my sisters to laugh at me for buying it (again).
I remember how sad I was when my son pulled the reel out of the Mad Max tape. I kept the box, though (Gosh, really Laura?) and then to add insult to injury he later tore the box. I still kept the torn box and put Valley Girl in it.
I found another copy while livin out at my mom's. Whew!
Does that mean I will toss the other cover?
I don't know.
Finding toys that I originally bought for my kids but in reality have not been able to let them open.
Hush! They will mess them up, guys. That would be really sad, wouldn't it?
Currently watchin my backyard flood. Keepin a sharp eye on it.....
And hangin with Batman.
I'm a blessed gal.
Love the art! I can't even imagine how long it would have taken to do that hot air balloon one. And the one with the panda bears makes me giggle. And aww! at your Granny for giving you that sweet piece of hers!
ReplyDeleteI vote to recycle the Mad Max box but continue to think about opening that Hello Kitty toy set. What is going on there? Did everyone get their own turkey at each place setting? Brains? I don't know but I like it.
Ha ha! You are THE voice of reason, aren't you? I will let go of the box... I will consider opening the Mega Thanksgiving Asian take on our holiday toy set.... and thank you.
Deletehahahah. Don't worry I have a drawer full of VHS tapes in my bedroom. Like I have a VHS copy of the movie Dave that I taped off cable in the late 90s. I also have a VHS taped off TV copy of the last episode of Dawson's Creek...so I have no room to judge.
ReplyDeleteOh man, we ran out of vhs tape storage in our media cabinet and decided to store some in the garage. We're becoming "those people". My sister used to record the Rosie O'donell show and E.R. (she still has the E.R. tapes) I used to record Sailor Moon at 5 am every school morning and Ronin Warriors. (I do not have the tapes, sadly)
Deleteoh my gosh i have a lot of vhs tapes and we dont' even have a player anymore. like, 16 hours of whose line is it anyway that i taped off tv. i'm a sentimental fool. and now that i have a basement! endless places to store crap i don't need.
ReplyDeleteApparently everyone over 27 is a closet VHS hoarder ;)
DeleteGlad to see I'm not the only one who still has VHS tapes! ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's so economical! You can get tapes for 25 cents to a dollar at the resale shop. And when the VCR breaks or gets a sandwich jammed in it(darn kids)we just get another for $5. It's just plain shrewd.
DeleteComing along. I love it
ReplyDeleteYes, you'll love it even more in person.
DeleteThat's funny...get her over there, Laura! And then...we'll get YOU out! :)
Deletelol hahahaha, you still have your suri magazine lol!! and actually i dont have my recorded vhs er collection, i dont know what happened to them :/
