A Collection Post: Emli/Kewpie lookin dolls

So I been meanin to do a "Collections Post" because that's  just about my favorite aspect of the blogosphere.
I thought I'd start with my collection of (for lack of better wordage)
"Ethnic Kewpie-type dolls" or "Dolls that resemble my niece Emli".
Now, I'm not a die-hard on this one. If it's cute, oldish, has a skin color that is at least 5 shades darker than mine and is wearin exaggerated "native" garb, then I'm buyin.
Nothin here I paid over $3 for. Eskimo pair were $6 each but the cashier gave em to me half off because all "housewares" were half off that day. Bless that woman for knowin that these were indeed wares for my house. Ya'll make nice with your shop workers and they'll make nice with you ;)

This was the first one I picked up. It was a gift for my niece because it looked like her. It's been through the ringer and somehow lost an arm along the way, so I'm gonna hold onto her till she gets all grown up :)

Now this picture just makes me smile :)
These posts are fun......

And here's a pic of little Emli, the inspiration for this collection ......
P.S.
This is my 100th post :)

  4. Love your doll collection. I used to have a small collection of Native American Kewpie dolls with the blinking eyes. My family used to take us on vacation to the Pocono Mountains every summer when I was a kid, and for some reason I would always bring one of them home! Seeing them reminds me of those days.
